question in my DMs:
Random question: when at a civilian job, do you dress to de-emphasize your curves, or has it even been an issue to consider?
great question.
when I was in my first job after graduating, I tried to hide everything feminine about myself as much as possible. No makeup, sports bras, pulled my hair back... Wore polo shirts to be like the male engineers. I am not sure why I thought I had to do this. At no point did anyone do anything to me to make me uncomfortable. I think it was me adjusting and wanting to blend in and try my best not to stand out. Eventually I was completely remote and didn't think about it anymore.
When I switched jobs, I was often working on a military base. My style had completely changed, I was wearing normal but heavily lined bras to hide my pokies. I normally had a big cardigan on but would switch it out for a lab jacket. Often the cardigan had to come off as I was crawling around sensitive equipment. I had MANY MANY MANY issues at that job with comments on my boobs and hard nipples but I just ignored it.
Any job I switched to after that was almost entirely remote but when I would go into the office I stopped really thinking about it and wore custom made button up blouses that fit well. There have been a ton of comments that were made about me to other people (who later told me) but nothing ever to my face.
Note: Some of those photos are older so there are duplicates in the one I just took. 😉 An unintentional closet before and after.
