Hey sweet beans, how’s life? Personally, I’m living my absolute best. Yesterday I felt like absolute trash all day, then proceeded to puke farther than I could see. I swear I could count every single mushroom that came out of me. But hey—healing, right?

If you haven’t been living in a cave this past week, you probably know the Oblivion remaster just dropped. And if you haven’t been living in a cave for the last 20 years, then you know Oblivion is one of the most iconic RPGs from The Elder Scrolls series—same world as Morrowind and Skyrim. Even if you’re not big on games, I seriously recommend getting familiar, because it’s a huge cultural touchstone, and not knowing it is just… cultural illiteracy, my loves.

Anyway, the remaster has already been cracked, repacks are out there if you’re that kind of adventurer. I’m personally not in a rush to play it because I regularly revisit the original Oblivion, so I’m not really riding a nostalgia wave. Also, I genuinely prefer the old look—the bright fantasy colors and those gloriously cursed faces.

Back in February, I was planning a whole post about a massive fan mod for Oblivion called The Living and the Dead. Honestly, it’s in my all-time top tier of gaming experiences—tied only with The Witcher 3. One day I will make that post… maybe even this week if I manage to summon the will to live. Or not.

The remaster doesn’t mean that much to me because you can’t install The Living and the Dead on it, but I do really want to play the official Shivering Isles expansion again. Sheogorath looks absolutely majestic. He was my unironic crush for a long time—and tbh, still is.

Also, I dropped an obscene amount of money on rare Funko Pop figurines because I had an uncontrollable desire and no self-restraint. So if any kind souls out there feel like tossing me some coins, I’ll pray for you and do some pelvic breathing in your honor.
