This is an incredibly common question when you have a bunch of aesthetic student content and make money selling that content.
In high school I still took colourful and organized, aesthetic notes but I just grasped the material a lot easier as well. In University I have needed a lot more repetition to get a decent level of understanding. I spend about 1.5-2hrs reading 1 textbook chapter. I then spend another 1hr more or less to type up my textbook notes. I spend 3hrs in lectures and take another set of notes. After class, i compare my lecture notes and instructor materials (PowerPoints, articles, etc) with my textbook notes and annotate, highlight, etc to distinguish and key information. This usually takes less than an hour. I then create a final set of study notes which summarizes All information from the various sources. This takes another 1-2hours. All in all that adds up to 4.5-6 hrs of studying per chapter, without counting class time OR time spent on assignments and other class work.
We do 2-3 chapters per week in class meaning approximately 12-36hrs of studying per class. Since this is my last year I'm in 3 classes per semester meaning 36-108hrs per week. Obviously I don't stick with it because 108hrs is nearly 5 straight days and there isn't enough time in the world. In reality I try to read each chapter and take textbook notes but even then I may just skim and not down a few key terms. As long as I am somewhat caught up with readings and don't miss out on lectures I don't mind leaving the study notes to do just before exams as a way to study.
In addition to assignments and course work I also have a life outside of school. I like to get brunch with my friends, go on a movie date, just relax in the jacuzzi with a face mask watching Netflix....
This timelapse represents about 40 mins of typing but my battery died lol. In reality it took an hour and a bit to type notes for this chapter
